Mwaa Dulles 800mhz talkgroups

Now I'm really confused. I thought we were talking about the new system which is 700 Mhz. The list above doesn't even match the old P16 system.

I have the old system programmed and it all works fine.

Old p16 operational with no issues on my 996 scanner. I'm using a Unication g5 to monitor 800 p25 system. All talk groups listed from RR database programmed .Only hear IAD police. P16 not compatable with G5 because it's smartnet. 700 system not operational as far as I know. Follow programming from database recently posted for 800 system and you should hear at least police at IAD. someone said they have heard DCA police transmissions. I do not monitor DCA. Due to lack of activity at airports there is hardly any radio traffic. I hear traffic the most around 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. when shift change occurs. Nothing heard on fire channels. Remember they are in testing phase of 800 system. In past nothing heard the whole day.

3rd line motorola (p16 smartnet) talkgroups listed.
This is old system currently in use.

I don't think there is any "verified" information as the MWAA transition to the new P25 system is still a ways off. As I said in this thread earlier, the RR information here listing separate 700 and 800 trunked systems is puzzling and probably wrong. No one has replied to say why there are two system IDs and frequencies listed. It'll most likely be a single system using all their 700 & 800 frequencies.

Now I understand. I haven't been looking in Loudoun but in Fairfax. It's one system in three county's. Should be listed in all three.

Thanks for the help. I just wasn't looking in the right place.

Now that I have all that figured out, does anyone have any idea what the 700Mhz system in Fairfax is going to be for? It seems that 6 frequencies would be more than enough to handle both airports. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Here are my notes from listening today.


114 - Change in label to "Maintenance 1"
- Radio Traffic made mention of channel 2 - users then showed up on TG 180
- old system TG1824

141- Change label to "Tac1 Regan Dispatch" - to keep label currently used by older system
*Simulcast is currently off
- Nora Units
142 - Change label to "Tac2 Dulles Dispatch" - to keep label currently used by older system
- Delta Units



** New Talkgroups Heard**

120- ???
-older system has this labeled as Dulles Baggage Handlers
180- Maintenance 2
- Radio traffic heard in reference to (Access Control) Alarms, cameras, card readers etc
-old system TG2880
777- Encrypted (Thinking this is the radio shop testing) they are encrypted on older system)

I still have not heard FD talk group. IAD PD functioning. I do not monitor DCA talkgroup 141.

114 Is the main TG for all facilities maint inside buildings and outside on all grounds and runways. They talk about maint being done and runway status. There are also shop to shop communications.

180 was defiantly referred two as channel two on the main channel because communications resumed on this TG. the two men working were defiantly talking about cameras, door access proximity card pads, and doors.

120 was gibberish because they were talking so fast and with broken english.

Without an organizational chart hard to say who is what division. This system is easier to figure out than transit authority.

I think the system is still in testing. Been silent past two days. Nothing heard on pd or maintenance talkgroups.

I'm hearing IAD PD today. I do not monitor DCA. thought I heard 3A late last night, but not confirming yet since we had multiple scanners on. I'm using Unication G5 mainly. Great reception around IAD. I will try listening this afternoon while at work.

Someone really needs to run Pro96COM or one of the other P25 data decoder softwares so we can see if adjacent site broadcast messages and what the control channels are on the other sites.
