Looks great. Is the audio clear from behind the dash, or do you have an external speaker?

The audio is very loud from the speaker on the scanner. No distortion or garbled audio at all. I do have an external speaker on the drivers side B-post above my seat belt, just don't have it hooked up. I forgot to go by RS & get the plug to solder on the end of it.

Thanks again for all the great compliments !!!!

I decided to change my antenna setup. I removed the A/S VHF on the drivers side & moved the 800 from the passenger side to the driver side. Now I'm using a black Maxrad 800 1/4 wave for the scanner.

Here's a pic

Updated Install Pics

Hey guys,

I changed the scanner in my Explorer. It took out the BCT-8 & put in a RS Pro-160. I haven't seen anyone else with Pro-160 pics here, but it fit well in the dash. I also added a speaker on the B-post about the drivers seat. Hope you like the pics !!!!

Why don't you throw out those crimp splices and solder/heat shrink them instead? It looks so much more professional.

Could you grab a part number off your double DIN bracket some time? I am thinking about getting an explorer like yours to replace my F150, and a drop-in console only has room for 3 of my 4 units so I'd like to put the last scanner in the dash like yours. Thanks!
