Where can i get the firmware at i googled it and can't find it.

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I tried loading firmware i have and when trying to flash it to the pager i get total package error.
Do you remember which firmware you have? I just recently upgraded mine to V1.35, and still have the .zip file from Unication. You could email them and ask for a download link, or I can send it to you if you wish.
Honestly, I don't have a clue why you're having so much trouble. I've had my G5 since 2017, and it's been used & abused ever since. I've done several firmware updates over the years, and I've programmed it several hundred times without fail.

Yeah i factory reset it it is working now unprogrammed.

Is this the same one you tried selling saying it was in excellent condition in the classifieds but saying it wasn't working in the forum? I think that was the end of last year wasn't it?
Send Unication support an email with your model and serial number and within a week usually they will send you a link.

FW 1.34 worked fine for me, just updated to 1.35, but it wasn't because it was giving me issues. I did read in the forums that there were some issues with tones and paging, but nothing else serious with it.
its working fine now i factory reset it and reprogammed the code plug and it works fine now.
One of my G5's locked up -again- last night. It was in the drop-in charger, and when I got up, all the LED's were lit up. None of the controls worked, including trying to turn the unit off. As usual, the only solution was pull the battery. The lockup had drained the battery. I have to keep a small Phillips screwdriver with me in case this happens when I'm out. Unacceptable.
Have you sent it in to Unication?
If it is over 5 years old they will not repair
I know these are not made for hobby use, but that is exactly what I use my G4 for. It has performed flawlessly for 3-4 years now. I bought it used.
I use a drop in charger, because that mini USB port is fragile.
I just bought an SDS-200, and for my purposes, the G4 outperforms the SDS-200, hands down. I use the G4 for the Milwaukee/Waukesha county OASIS system, which has just about everything of interest to me on the system. It took a bit of learning to get it programmed to where it functions properly on the system, but now seems like a piece of cake.
I use them in the Fire Service and after 5 years pager will not be repaired per letter from Unication.

I thought they decided to start repairing older pagers again but I guess not. At what age to they not repair them anymore?

They told me 5 years when I wanted a G1 repaired due to the front buttons coming off still have that G1
