N-WIN Unidentified talkgroups thread

I believe 87xx units are Game and Parks.

Sorry...This was a typo. 87xx units are Fire Marshalls. (7xx units are Game and Parks)

I am also noticing that Fire Marshall radio IDs are 3xxxx where the xxxx is there badge number. Example 8723 has a radio ID of 38723.
I am also documenting some 39yyy Radio IDs where the yyy is the last 3 digits of their badge number. These may be portable radios.


I have monitored talkgroups 60001 to 60010. I have been able to positively identify 60006 as "District C" talkgroup for State Fire Marshall. Others have not been identified yet. There is a lot of informal conversation on these talkgroups.

Tgid 60005

I live in Bellevue and I can pick up the Lancaster N-WIN tower and heard someone saying testing 1,2,3
on the following ID's 60001, 60002, 60004, 60010, 60011

I have no idea who is going to use these

Logged TGID 60005 with 87232 affiliating with Norfolk tower this afternoon around 1510. I didn't catch any voice, I was out (up to this point anyhow) while Pro96com was logging today's activity.

I would guess the radio id 8723=badge number 2=portable or mobile.

NDOR Radio Id's/ TG 3114 Omaha

Logged this morning on TG 3124, affiliating to Norfolk tower.

Any ideas on what these radio id's pertain to, truck numbers, district numbers, etc??

Also, TG 3114-Troop A Omaha, several NSP units also affiliating to Norfolk tower under this talkgroup.

I didn't get a chance to hear any voice, just a lot of pvtdata being passed pro Pro96com, had to answer a short call to work to get on a 102 car grain train, here comes harvest season! Long days awaits and big money!!

NDOR, Fire Marshall and the Norfolk Regional Center

Busy morning across the Norfolk tower. Here are some new, except NDOR, talkgroups found:

NDOR TG 3124, busy with radio testing with radio id 33015, the tech mentioned Norfolk testing a couple of times.

60008-Fire Marshall, Unknown Talkgroup, may be Dist B. Radio ID's 39601/38601/38723

39601-38601 Belongs to a NFM Training Specialist, there is also an inspector, 38723 attached to TG 60008, 601 was giving directions to 723 to an unknown location.

TG 3046, showing this TG belonging to the Norfolk Regional Center, radio id 6505855. Affiliating to the Norfolk tower. This talkgroup and radio id has been showing up almost daily. Never hear any voice. Oddly though, this radio id toggles between NDOR 3124 and NDOC 3046.

NSP Columbus TG 3034

NSP Troop B Columbus TG 3034 has been confirmed. Trooper originally was on the Norfolk TG, confirmed with dispatch if Columbus Talkgroup was active, both Trooper and Dispatch moved over to 3034. Trooper continued with a vehicle info stopped at MP 385 Hwy 30.

Will submit to DB Admin for entry into the database.

I happened to be in conversation with a state communications rep yesterday regarding
the anticipated date when the A Troop sector would be enabled. He said that they are
hopeful the FCC will grant the frequencies soon and speculated that would probably be
those previously assigned to the US Marshal and DEA. I asked about the former Douglas
County Sheriff and Omaha Fire frequencies and why they weren't being considered. He
stated that they were initially, but there were some intermod issues and coordination
conflicts with the State of Iowa. So, I guess it's just a waiting game.

With discussion with service center about Loup and Cornhusker Power Districts working beneath Columbus-Kelly Sub 230kv line. Advise not to perform an auto reclose (automatic restore) in case of a problem.

TGID 3122-Wahoo?

TGID 3122, with NSP Trooper 51 affiliating to Humphrey Tower. I show this as NSP Wahoo and
TGID 3008, with NSP Trooper 111 also affiliating to Humphrey Tower, show as Troop A MA 1.

Any confirmation on these 2 talkgroups??

Lincoln County is 15 county.
So, wondering if 5ccxx talkgroups are going to be local agencies. cc-county number. xx-locally defined talkgroup. This way each county could have about 100 talkgroups (5cc00-5cc99).
For radio IDs are they going follow the state call-sign template accxxx. A-Department/Agency (9-Sheriff, 6-Emergency Mang. and 3?-for local Police). CC-County number. XXX-Unit ID. So 9xxxxx would be a sheriff dept's radio ID.
Of course this is just 'think out loud' only time will tell if they are going to be doing this.

I am with you on this. I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw the talkgroup number and affiliated radio ID. Just one update, local police are often designated with a 4 prefix (not 3).

I read a couple of months ago in the N-WIN meeting notes that LES submitted an application to N-WIN, (unknown if it was approved) so I am also wondering if utilities that sign up to operate over N-WIN is going to use the talkgroup format avsfan33 has come up with.

TG 3108 with Trooper 310 affiliating to Humphrey Tower. Showing 3108 as Nebraska City per spreadsheet info, any confirmation?

TG 4501 and 4519?

All I caught was the last few seconds of these TGs 4501 and 4519. 2 people were saying "testing 1 2 3 cany you hear me?" Sorry that I don't have a dedicated scanner to log TG's on my computer. I have the N-WIN Lincoln tower site on 5 second delay on my Uniden 996XT so I will have enough time to save the TG's.
I like to scan other systems that I have programmed for my area.

LES or something else??

Could be Lincoln Electric System (LES)? LES has submitted an application to N-WIN council this past summer to use N-WIN. Unknown if it was approved. The meeting minutes for this month has not been updated.

..........Or it could be entirely something else. Keep us up to date! I will do the same if I see those TGID's show up here.
