I'm heading back from Motorola staging in Elgin, IL tomorrow. Everything went well and we expect delivery late next week to our site.

I caught a few pictures:

Small update. The site equipment arrived at NASA Wallops on Tuesday. We've started moving the racks out to the RF sites. Should see installation start mid July.

Quick update. All site equipment has been installed, minus the dispatch consoles. We're within a week of lighting up the sites for initial testing and optimization. During this time, mobiles and base stations are being installed. We're getting close to start programming of all subscriber units. It's getting pretty exciting :)

Just got home from Chincoteague for the Pony Swim...

That explains why I didn't see a P-25 Control Channel this week.

I remember seeing this system in staging. It really looks nice all racked up. KSC also just went UHF phase 2. Nice to see upgrades from old equipment regardless of the vendor. TT

UPDATE:

The sites at NASA Wallops were turned on late last week. They have gone through complete tests and optimization as of this morning. We're starting to enable test radios to do full coverage testing. We already see a huge improvement over the EDACS system in every way. Most notable, switching to UHF has given us much better in-building coverage (as was expected). The database has been further updated with talkgroup information and also shows site information for the other related NASA sites: Goddard Space Flight Center, IV&V (West Virginia) and GISS (New York).

Pretty awesome seeing a fully populated/documented set of talkgroups (I'm speaking more of the Greenbelt site mostly)!

Can you still hear launch information on the old frequencies?

Going to the launch of the Antares Saturday Nov 11, 2017

Thanks!

Thank you for the information! I just purchased the BCD436HP so I can once again listen in.

Here is the launch from the old ferry landing.

Hi all,

Just came back from a quick trip to the DC region and noticed the Goddard system is broadcasting Site 5 with a control channel of 406.8375, not documented in the database. Any idea where this may be?

Thanks

Where exactly in the DC region were you receiving this?
