Since we DO NOT have a separate group for racing frequencies, I'll have to post these here.

NOTE: ALL FREQUENCIES LISTED ARE IN ANALOG!

All of the frequencies listed I did verify using my Pro-96 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway (moderators - please don't close/move this to Georgia because these frequencies are used nationwide) on March 7th during the (all 3) practice, (cup & truck) time trials and (truck) race. If there are any updates to the Cup series, I will post them here either Sunday or Monday (I'll be at the race on Sunday). If there is a driver information missing, that is because I was not able to capture their frequency (even with the Pro-96 and using an 800 MHz antenna, there is still a LOT of intermod!).

CT = CTCSS, DT = Digital Tone.

Note on NASCAR channels - Ch 1 is used to coordinate tower to pit officials. Ch 5 is used to coordinate tower to all service (EMS, FD, Sweepers, Wreckers, etc) vehicles.

The list may not line up perfectly, I just transferred the data from my Pro-96 into Win96 and then to Excel. Also, if there is more than one listing, the driver/team did use both frequencies.

The 89 car is Morgan Shepherd, Brad Keselowski is in the 88 and Brian Keselowski is in the 28. I'm guessing that it should be the #88 car of Brad Keselowski that you posted the freq information for but its difficult to know for sure.

As far as the antenna goes, ditch the antenna you are using and slap a stubby on there.

Going to be in Martinsville in a few weeks and Darlington a few after that.
Might catch something to add to the list.

GO GATORS!!!

*hint* spend 5 bucks at the track and get an updated listing of all nascar frequencies

The 800 MHz antenna I'm using IS a stubby! :)

>*hint* spend 5 bucks at the track and get an updated listing of all nascar frequencies<

Someone who was sitting near me had one of those list, there were several incorrect frequencies on it! Bad for their business!

My tag says it all!

10 Carpentinier (?) 462.7625 DT 465

The AMS race on Sunday was great! Toyota had it's first win and the WX couldn't have been better!

Aren't they trying to get your tag banned down there?

Why not update the NASCAR wiki page to include this?
Great idea -- the NASCAR page was been locked for quite a while (see this thread). With the information on there being two years old now, it would be of interest to the scanning community to get the most recent information from b7spectra on there.

Otherwise we can always create a new page, calling it "NASCAR driver frequencies" or something similar and posting the current freqs on there. I made a similar wiki page that included frequencies for the NASCAR tracks, public safety, etc. that are race related but not NASCAR teams or officials. We could merge the track and team frequency pages into one single page if that is more convenient.

I've unlocked the article - I agree, with the data 2 years old, it could stand some updating.

The wiki is also flagging this article as being too long - some browsers don't like viewing articles bigger than 32k. I have no objection if someone wants to make this a multi page article.

NASCAR wiki page has been updated for 2008

I updated the page with b7spectra's list from above. I see there are some corrections that others have suggested that I just didn't have time to look at tonight. One other question: 5 Skinner 469.4188 DT 271 looks like a typo as far as the freq--any ideas? Feel free to make edits to the NASCAR wiki page or the NASCAR Track Frequencies wiki page. Thanks.

Mike, how do I check to see if I made the file size smaller or not?

Do you typically need the tones. I just got a scanner for the lowes race and I havne't used one at the race before. I've got all of the freqs plugged in but not many sites list the tones so haven't put those in yet.

You don't really need to bother with tones ...

But they are nice to block out near by interference, particularly at races in the bigger cities.

now for the $100,000 question.

Are the freqs posted on this site going to be right for the race in charlotte? Do they change freqs much during the year or do they stick with them? What is really the best place to get a good list.

I've found about 4 different sources or freqs on the internet and most seem to jive pretty well, but not many have the pl tones, and none really seem to indicate how often they are updated.

Thanks for all of the help guys.

happy scanning.

I've found that the best thing to do is to program it from the most recent list you can find on the web. Then, when you get to the track, blow $5 on the freq list they sell there and make the modifications needed to your programming (every race will be slightly different depending on who qualifies and sometimes on interference sources).

Modifying the programming should take less than 10 minutes. I can't find where you've mentioned which scanner you have, but having all the alpha put in before you go (for alpha-capable scanners) takes care of 90% of the programming time.

I have an SC230.

I've got it programmed based on the latest things i've been able to find on the web, and i'm pretty comfortable updating and adding new freqs (I think).

That makes sense.

Unless a crew is getting interference from some other source, 99.9% of the time the frequencies are good for the entire season. Come later this year when I go to the final Atlanta race, I'll simply upload my saved program of NASCAR frequencies and will most likely hear everyone like I did before!
