I have never tried to email them but have talked to them on the phone several times and they have always been super helpful. Maybe you should try to call them...heres the number 1.800.272.7111.

I have been renting from them for several years and this past April at Texas decided to buy the Classic headset and I love them. They are very comfortable and they block out enough of the sound from the cars so that you can hear your radio traffic.

You must decide on whether you want "over the head" or "behind the head" headphones.
The platinum headset is "behind the hear" and the classic is "over the head"

I personally like the "over the head" because it is more comfortable IMO.

The Phantom is their entry level headphones and did not feel all that nice when I tried them on at the track. They also only have 24db NRR Rating and the Classic has 25db NRR Rating. This rating system has to do with how well you can actually hear the sound with all the other outside noise around you. Plus the Classic has extra padding for a really comfortable feel.

If you are considering the Classic...I would suggest that you buy them....Don't buy the Phantom.

As far as pricing goes, they always have internet specials and I have always had better pricing through the internet. Don't be afraid to call them.

Hope this helps!!

When I was @ Pocono I purchased the RT-48 Scanner Headset with Built-in AM/FM Radio. I was charged the same price as what is on the internet. I found these to have barely adequate noise level reduction. It was comfortable and everything, I just expected a bit more noise reduction. I could still hear everything ok, just preference I guess. I will be using a foam earplug along with the headset next time, that should kill the car noise better and clean up the audio.

I bought the RE Platinum headphone set at Dover a few years ago and work great.
I noticed that Pit crews and track workers were using them so figured they must work good.
I can hear my scanner,Drivers and all easily with no problems.

Mark is correct, I see crews, owners, wifes and workers using both the Platinum and the Platinum ANR which is the one with the most noise reduction. The ANR is silver in color and this one is considered their best headphones. These headphones are behind the ear. I like the classic because they are behind the head. Like i said before, it is important for you to decide on which style you like better.

I like to be able to hear and feel the cars through the headphones as well as hear the scanner traffic. I have tried other brand headphones that have higher nr ratings and they make you feel kind of isolated in a sense to where you can't really feel or hear the cars go by. Another idea is to rent the headsets for the race and decide after you have tried them if you want to buy them.
