• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hey there recently purchased a dm32 and I have problems receiving and transmitting on a repeater. I know i have pl tones and frequencies correct. It seems it is pinging the repeater. But no audio. It also doesn't seem like my transmissions are getting out. I can reach the repeater and recieve perfectly with my uv-5r. Ive tried manually programming and every setting i can think of on CPS. Anyone know why? Maybe faulty radio? Thanks so much!!

The DM-32UV software has the receive and transmit CTCSS positions reversed. The transmit PL is actually the receive and the receive PL is the transmit. Check the DM-32 on simplex with your UV5-R using the tones.

Hey there recently purchased a dm32 and I have problems receiving and transmitting on a repeater.
Depending on your firmware version, some DM-32 models also require the Forbid Talkaround box in the channel detail screen to be checked in order for the repeater input frequency to work properly. This bug appears to have been fixed in later versions of the official Baofeng firmware.

I believe this was fixed in the 1.41 CPS.

Requested replacement and it does the same thing. The radio acts like it isn't transmitting with enough power. I think im going to just send it back and buy something else. Ive done everything at this point.

This may be an odd suggestion, as it happened to me, but have you made sure that either your volume is turned up and/or have you unplugged the programming cable from the radio (not from the computer but the radio itself).

Yeah this has been done and verified. It's been on 2 models now. I can hear the curchunck line in hitting the repeater but no audio. I've also verified this with a completely different verified radio on the same frequency and pl tones.

Are you using the supplied antenna? I've found that some aftermarket antennas don't make the SMA connection on the center pin.
I've tried the supplied antenna, a different radio model antenna, And a Nagoya 771 antenna. It will curchunk the repeater on both the dm32s I've tried and I can hear it on another functioning radio but the voice transmission will not go through on tx or rx, only the repeater curchunk.
