Need Help setting up Pro97

Hi all - I am new here. My brothers and I bought my father a Pro-97 scanner from Radio Shack. I also bought the driver software and have a free version of the Win97 software. There must be something wrong with us because we just can't understand how to use the software or what to do with the cd from Radio shack. My Dad and brother are retired law enforcement and they can't understand it either. LOL

Can anyone help me with some directions?
