I've been monitoring a frequency (463.550Mhz) here in Beaver county that has been active, especially during weather and rush hour. Now so far, I 've noticed a lot of PL codes in use.

There are three agencies in the area that have a license:
Aliquippa (Beaver co)
West Penn Hospital (Allegheny co)
Crystal Sound Systems (Allegheny co)

I have identified and submitted two PLs so far, they are:
PL 88.5 - Aliquippa PW
PL 179.9 - Aliquippa SD Transportation

Yet, I cannot determine who is using these PLs
PL 186.2 (discussions about driving)
PL 192.8 (active during the most recent snow, talking about plowing by US 19 and a Wal-Greens)

I drive often for work and do notice these around the Airport area and closer to Pittsburgh if this helps out.

Please only submit to the DB if you have personally confirmed their use. Obtaining the information from a third party site is not enough to have the data added to the DB. You must have confirmed the activity firsthand.

Thank you,

That's why I didn't submit them. It's Like dealing with the FBI.

PGHScanner.Com is a great site -- and in fact I'd say it's the most accurate site for WPA data. But, it's not our goal to simply scour other websites for information to be included in our database -- no matter how reliable that data is. The data we want in our database is data that (a) is submitted by our users and (b) isn't simply yanked from somebody else's website.

It's not unreasonable. The owner of PGHScanner.Com [who happens to be on this board] goes through a lot of trouble to maintain his data. We want to make sure that we come by our own data "fairly".

Trust me, we aren't trying to be difficult. We want all of the [accurate] information that we can get for inclusion in our DB. Firsthand monitoring [and subsequent submitting] is always the way to go about that.

I'm in agreement which is why I started this thread, generally I do a lot of traveling and I use that time to see what I can find. I just happened to see that particular frequency seeing multiple uses and figured I'd see if anyone had any similar results.

I am aware of PGHScanner and I use that to reference frequencies in my vehicle scanner to see what I can find as I'm sitting on the parkways (more often than not). There's more fun in finding stuff yourself than it is to simply "copy & Paste" others. You never know what you can find on your own.

I agree with you. Definitely more fun figuring it out on my own when possible. Being from a fairly rural area with not a lot of activity on radio outside of public safety, it can get pretty rough figuring out the users on one of those Pittsburgh area community repeaters. I usually manage to track down one, always leaving two or three more behind that I have no clue about. So you're doing better than I am.

Also you have to be careful on the community repeaters. There could be more than one 463.550 repeater. One could be using some pl's and the other one has different ones.

Ok, I found another PL in use, 162.2 PL with discussion of transporting people (access or hospital escorts)
And 186.2 is a school bus PL and it does sound like it's from USC as they've identified roads I'm familiar with from the South Hills.
