Well I figured it out looks like I had to program the Britannia tower so know looks like I can hear south now and Halton crystal clear

Guys Ive been trying to listen to my local school buses but for first student Canada its just clear static what am I doing wrong!

... Why don't you stop asking, since no one really knows.. Maybe you should simply try scanning...

Try for a week. If you don't get any results at all after a solid week... then ask.

But yea, asking on a scanning forum if you should/should not be able to hear something is kinda a moot point- we don't know.

... Do you know anything about the type of radio system they are using? Is it a simplex or duplex system? If its a simplex system (which I would assume it is) well, there is your answer.

Do you know the general differences of radio systems? Give this a read, and also do some more research on types of radio systems.

May I ask a question barrell? Are you a student? You come across as a child a good deal of the time. Then again, when I was a kid it was hard for me to drum up big cash for anything, let alone a top of the line scanner.

If you want any respect here you are gonna have to earn it, if you keep coming across in the way you have in the past you are going to get sarcastic and angry responces. If you begin to learn and offer your assistance you will very quickly earn the respect of alot of people here.

The members here are good people. I know many of them and are friends with a few. I just met up with one prominent member here last week.

The ball is in your court, dont drop it.

ps dont forget that this site is much more database than forum, you will find all the school buses listed in your 'county.' Take a look yourself

Guys, you encouraged him to buy a scanner and now that he has done so, let's give him some support.

If all you can offer is sarcastic comments, then don't participate in the thread.

If you're feeling frustrated, then move on.

Keep in mind that there's always the option to ignore a user. Once set, you won't see anymore posts from that individual.

Maybe nothing...what frequency (-ies) is this on? If you're using a small antenna, it's
normal that you would not hear every mobile, if it's not on a repeater (common case
for school busses).
