I had the same issue on Xfinity. Had to connect to the 2.4 channel to get Sentinel to work. My laptop is literally 5' away from the router.

Need some help here, never had this problem ..trying to update Sentinel Master database for either the HP1 or SDS200 … when I go to update I get an error message after just a few seconds stating updating full database failed, the operation has timed out … I’m using Spectrum for internet . My internet connection seems fine. Any advice ?
Did you figure out what the issue was I am kinda having the same issue so I decided to use my laptop and it worked so I know is not the ISP I am trying to figure out what’s wrong with my desktop now

I believe I encountered this wording when I corrupted my micro-SD card. However, I could be wrong.

That specific message is given when an ISP is having issues with high latency times with their FTP transfers, or the ISP may not be allowing port 21 for FTP. Spectrum is a known problem with Sentinel updates in some areas. When updating the Sentinel database, the SD card is not part of the equation, that message can appear without the scanner being connected to the computer.

Probably Windows firewall (or third-party equivalent) on the desktop.
