We recently had to move my 94 year old father in law in to our home. He bought an SDS200 years ago and I had updated it through Sentinel when it was new. That was a couple of computers ago. I have been trying to download Sentinel so I can update his scanner for him to our area. I can not get it to install due to a .net error, but I can not find a fix for it. It seems like all the posts I can find about the .net error, people already have Sentinel installed. At this point I would be thrilled to even get to that point. This is a screenshot of the current error I am receiving.Screenshot 2026-01-23 142515.png

Right click on the Windows icon and select Settings. At the top of the screen, there is a search window. Type in Windows Features. Click on Turn Windows features on and off. Turn on Net Framework 3.5 which includes 2.0. Click on OK and exit. I forget if you need to restart the computer.

you have to enable .net 3.5 you do this by going to control panel then clicking uninstall a program or programs and features then on left side of that window you click turn windows and features on or off. In the list click the checkbox next to .net framework 3.5 and click ok follow the prompts to install

Once you have Net Framework 2.0 installed, look in the Documents folder of your old computer. There should be a Uniden folder with all of your favorites lists and profiles. Copy that folder to the Documents folder of your new computer.

The old computer is long gone. I finally got it installed, but now the scanner isn't showing up in the microSd window for me to update. Searching the forum now for a fix.

If you would like some help, I would be happy to put together a favorites list for your father-in-law. Just let me know what you would like to monitor.
