What public safety can be heard in New Castle County? Are all police agencies encrypted? The database and earlier forums have conflicting info. Specifically, what about Wilmington and Newark?

What public safety can be heard in New Castle County? Are all police agencies encrypted? The database and earlier forums have conflicting info. Specifically, what about Wilmington and Newark?

New Castle County police along with the municipalities they dispatch for on their channel (Elsmere, Middletown, New Castle, etc) are encrypted. Wilmington and Newark are in the clear for dispatch operations. Delaware State Police (who respond to calls along state roadways) have selectable encryption on their dispatch talkgroup. Most times they're in the clear but they do switch on the encryption at times.
