I got the new Comp up and running, downloaded Oddcast and now it shows the online scanner back up and running, but now I can't hear anything. With the old comp (had Windows XP) I could hear my scanner at the same time it was running the online scanner, now with the new comp (Windows 7), I can't hear anything. Is there a way to fix this. PS using win7 on three machines and loving it so far. Only problem has been an old laptop that had 32bit XP on it and I tried 64 bit win7, I can't find 64 bit audio drivers for the thing.

Kendrick, I have not played with any of the home versions yet so keep that in mind.
With the ultimate, pro and enterprise version I could not be more pleased. the program is much slimmed down from it's Vista roots. Unless you try to put 64bit on equipment that was not designed for it, all the installs have gone flawlessly. My first install I had been using for a few days and decided that I ought to go through the fun of trying to put my network printer on it. I clicked printers and devices and guess what was already there waiting to be used.... Only one driver I have had problems with and that one was due to the device mfg mis-labeling it. Once I let the program look for the driver automatically it loaded and ran without a problem.
The biggest problem has been legacy programs that like to change register keys while running or save data to the program home file instead of in the documents and settings area. These can usually be run by making a desktop shortcut and setting "run in XP compatibility mode" and checking Run as Administrator.

Hmmm Is this a hijacked thread? I may get a hand slap for putting this under the wrong heading ;-)

I have a few customers who I do computer services for (No one big - home users) And I ordered them all to remove Vista and replace it with XP. Now I am ORDERING them to Replace XP with 7. W7 compared to Vista is like 98 to XP WITHOUT all the initial problems XP originally had. Straight out of the box, Microsoft Windows-7 operates almost as flawlessly as Windows 3.11. I have had issues of Drivers for the 64 bit package but even the 64 bit is Lighter and runs much better than vista and for that matter XP-64. While A LOT has changed in the OS it still is almost as easy to use as XP.

I am running Echo link, IRLP and several other Communications programs on W7 with no issues. When MS puts a SP-1 on 7, I doubt I'll see much of a difference.

Because of the fact that 7 runs so well and efficiently I am looking to add back my feed to the RRDB as I now have confidence again in My WINDOWS BASED IBM Computer.

Unless your a Vista user who absolutely hates vista, There is probably little need at this time to upgrade to 7. But keep it in the back of your minds, Its not that bad ..... (so far)

I would like to know if Peter's Software "ScannerCast" can run with it? And if there are any specific issues with Oddcast?

Thanks
