for those of you who have and are using the older Uniden BC-796D and some of the older scanners on that site...

how well does that work for you..? i have a uniden 796d and just wondering if it's gonna handle the new p25 system when it gets upgraded here in my area..

Your 796 is compatible with P25 Phase 1, but not Phase 2. I haven't heard whether the new system is Phase 1 or Phase 2. It's likely Phase 1 since Phase 2 is quite a bit more expensive, requires more expensive radios, and would be overkill for SD.

...and I just found indication that the new system is Phase 2. Looks like I'll need to replace my feed scanner.
