George Washington and Jefferson National Forests

The George Washington and Jefferson National Forests in western Virginia, and small parts of West Virginia and Kentucky contain nearly 1.8 million acres; one of the largest blocks of public land in the eastern United States. The forest headquarters is the Forest Supervisor’s Office in Roanoke, Virginia. The forests include the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area and seven Ranger Districts. Those seven districts include: the Clinch RD in Norton, VA; the Eastern Divide RD in Blacksburg, VA; the Glenwood-Pedlar RD in Natural Bridge Station, VA; the James River and Warm Springs RD in Hot Springs, VA; the Lee RD in Edinburg, VA; the North River in Harrisonburg, VA; and the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area in Marion, VA.

Dispatching for this forest is provided by the Virginia Interagency Coordination Center (VICC) in Charlottesville, VA. They identify as "Charlottesville Dispatch" on the air. VICC is the interagency focal point for mobilization of resources from the DOI – Bureau of Land Management, US Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, USDA – US Forest Service, and the Commonwealth of Virginia State Forestry. Note, the most recent printed information places this center in Charlottesville, while online information places this center at the Forest Supervisor's Office in Roanoke. Feedback from members is needed to verify which location it is at as well as the radio identifier being used.

Ya. I figured it owuld be quiet but still surprised on a Saturday with the amount of traffic in the park. I added the stuff to my mobile so will continue to monitor. I can hear other LMR traffic from Elliot and Apple Orchard from home so will setup a logger next weekend when I get another SDR in the mail.

These are all correct but keep in mind that each repeater transmits its own NAC (none of them transmit F7E). F7E is what is programmed into the actual radios because F7E unmutes to all NAC's.
