Don’t know if anything ever came of this, or was supposed to, but in 2018 Clark made it official they would join NJICS.

Saw some notes from a town meeting. 2002xxx is their range.

Doing some NJICS town agreement searching

That was allegedly part of the reason they went to P25, the other being interference from a site in Scotch Plains with the transmitter owner being indifferent. Nothing ever came of it after that though, and almost all of their in-service radios are still XTS/XTL.

it seems the county of union wants all towns in the county on NJICS... I wonder when Berkeley Heights is going?

That's been the goal from the very start and Union County has been clear about that to the municipalities and departments. Several county leaders, including higher-ups in the Division of Emergency Management believe that centralizing communications is essential to maintaining continuity in the event of a major event and to improve interop. Frankly I agree and it's a good thing in my opinion, but I'm a part-time UC resident these days and everyone has their own view.

Berkeley Heights will probably go eventually. Especially with pretty much all of the county now NJICS. But last I heard there hadn't been any word of any discussions or commitments by them.

Last week when Hillside PD went over to NJICS they were simulcasting on their old PD channel. Yesterday only dispatch was being heard on the old freq.

TGID 4971, 2007 RIDs, all in the clear. Sounds like PD dispatch somewhere in union county. I don’t have the RID list in front of me so I couldn’t tell you what town.

My apologies, been discussed already. Disregard.

Sorry for the newbie question...Just moved from a town (West Orange) and my older scanner worked just fine for West Orange, Essex County Fire Mutual Aid, and several other towns I listen to....I am now in Essex Fells where they are on the NJICS so the old scanner won't pick up EFPD...I was looking at the SDS200 but open to other more basic units...would EFPD come out of the box or special programming be needed? Thanks for the info...

I work in Essex Fells and they come in crystal clear on the SDS100. I have a friend who lives on Fells road and listens using a 996P2, but it comes in distorted. Go for the SDS. You’ll need to put them in a favorites list but that’s a piece of cake.

TG 4811 is sounding an awful lot like another Passaic County Sheriff's office TG. I was unable to catch an RID off of the Ramapo site so far...

Atlantic Health IDs.... interesting.

Not necessarily surprising.

They do BLS for local towns during the day/mutual aid, for Ringwood, Wanaque. All in range of Ramapo.

I was used to seeing MICOM on Ramapo when I still had my Whistler.

Same. Will be interesting to see Atlantic’s affiliations when their new comm center is completed.
