Oh yes. I ride the Raritan line at least twice a week. I know that up until Union Train Station the Raritan Dispatcher and the auto-signals are on 160.860 (shared with Conrail, since they are using their tracks). After Union, on the Newark Penn Station approach, they use Amtrak's tracks and therefore the dispatcher switches to 161.010. Every now and then I close-call a signal on 160.890 while riding on the Raritan train (which may just be an input to one of the other frequencies already mentioned, OR a spare channel). I hope this helps! Also, if you want to hear the transit PD in the Newark Penn Station area, they mainly use 161.370.

That begs the question I still want to know as well - are they still on 161.235 from the Raritan engine house up through the Roselle area?

161.235 Coastline Train

I believe 161.235 is solely used now for the North Jersey Coastline Train from Newark all the way down to Bay Head. That's all I ever hear on that frequency. I haven't heard Raritan Valley used on there for over a year now, maybe even two. Therefore, I highly doubt it. I'm sure they have the channel still stored in their radios, but they haven't been using it.

As mentioned above on Raritan Valley Line:

Between Newark and Union: 161.010

Between Union to Raritan: 160.860 and 160.890

If anyone else has any more confirmed ACTIVE frequencies, feel free to post. However, these are the only ones I have confirmed them using over the past year and like I said, I ride the raritan line fairly often. If they still use 161.235, then it's being used way out by the Raritan area because I only pick up NJ Coastline on that frequency from the eastern Union County area.

Raritan Valley Line Frequency

Last Sunday (6/24) while in Piscataway, I heard the Raritan Valley line dispatcher talking (on 161.235) to a disabled train stopped at Westfield. Later in the morning, a Norfolk Southern train called the RVL dispatcher seeking permission to enter RVL at Brook Junction.

good catch

Good catch Transitman! This may mean that once the Raritan train passes Roselle Park heading west, it uses 161.235. I only ride the Raritan between Roselle Park and Newark, so the frequencies I posted are related to that area. Anyone else hear Raritan on 161.235 west of Cranford? Here, I only hear coastline on that frequency.
