I made all the frequencies MOT, none FM/P25.. I am using Win96 and ARC96. Both are working with MOT for all the frequencies and the table as noted above. Hope this helps.

Could you expand on the process. I see one line of settings for 9600 but in ARC 96 there are more than one line... do I delete all the others??? How about the 3600 settings? Normal or Multi table???

I am right back where I was at first.... scanner display showing properly.... no sound

Why can't anyone put a STEP BY STEP procedure that has worked for the PRO - 96. How hard is that for someone who has figured it out TO DO. ???? Evidently pretty difficult.

Okay.... In ARC 96 I deleted all other info in multi tables (value 0) this was under the 9600 side. left the 3600 side as is (Normal). In the 9600 I inserted the single line of codes 0,4095,0,851.01250,12.50 I went to config and unchecked "show id#"

My pro-96 is now working properly. It will now actually work on the open /closed bank mode. (Before it didn't matter open or closed I was receiving traffic from TG's that weren't even in radio.lol) Now shows alpha tags .... not TGID#'s. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I still get some garbled talk... I don't know if from to strong or to weak of signal. I guess it's normal from what I have read here.

The garble could likely be an encrypted channel,

Well after about a week of listening to my scanner with the updates and new scan lists, it seems to be working pretty well. I would say I hear about 90% of the traffic now, this is with the radio shack antenna. I found a good spot to put the scanner where I see the best results. So far so good.

Eureka!!! My Pro-96 works! Thanks, CA58, for the clarification of your process!

And thanks to everyone here for their support along the way!

Good..............................90% for being in Marion is pretty good. I get a bit less than that when I am mobile through town

Did you have your squelch level set to "2" ? Anything higher won't work.

am still having problems getting the new system . at times in the house with the pro-197 I can hear fine , but most of the time it's garbled & broken up , tried the outside antenna and one inside & still the same . Once it warms up I plan on building a corner reflector antenna & point it to the site near Wilson & 6th st. ( am in Cedar Hills ) . the 396T in the mobile is same way , hit & miss with either the Radio Shack 800mhz duckie out the 800mhz mag. mount on the roof , but 95% copy if I am on the SW side of town .. could my problems be from picking up multible sites at same time or scanner programing ?

multipath interference ...................

If it works sometimes............you have it programed correctly.

Actually if you are in Cedar Hills I would experiment with aiming toward the DAEC tower

You are probably 1/2 way or so between the Wilson Ave & DAEC towers...........not going to be fun without a VERY directional antenna

SW Side, Pro-197. After forking out about $100 for a 900mhz yagi antenna, 50' of good quality low loss cable, and crawling around a hot attic, I am now receiving about 98% of tx's.

Mileage will vary case to case. In your case, it sounds like it is working well. On the flip side, I have some people getting really good decode and then 2 days later they have to "fiddle" with their beam to get that good decode back.

There are days when my decode rate goes down to maybe 90% here at home---most of the time around 98% NE of Martelle as long as I stay on the stock Ducky antenna that came with the PSR 800.

If I hook it to an outside antenna it goes down to 80% or worse

Mobile is terrible on the SW side and in Marion................95% and better downtown, NE and close in SE
using an outside DUCKY mag mounted to the roof on an extender cable

When I was there a few weeks ago my 536HP was sounding crystal clear the whole time I was there.....and it was sitting in a cupholder using the stock duck antenna........maybe I just got lucky!

Are you still able to use your 396T in the Cedar Rapids area?
