Enjoy while it lasts. Was told they are doing what Dona Ana did when time comes and entire counties is migrated over.
Sites usually only carry traffic if a radio is associated with it. Example. If a NMSP unit is in the area and its radio affiliates with that site, then your radio will start hearing traffic on the talk group the unit is on. Once the unit leaves the area and the radio jumps to another site, the system knows the NMSP unit is no longer using that site, thus it will no longer carry that talk group.Update to my last post above... I recently noticed that the "Touch Me Not" site, which is actually on Green Mountain, is now listed in the database with frequencies. I've entered this site into my radio, but still do not see or hear anything. I guess this site is still vapor ware.
Thoughts anyone?
Thanks... I'll keep listening.Sites usually only carry traffic if a radio is associated with it. Example. For what it's worth, I monitor the Alamogordo site just about 24/7 and it's working as advertised. There are times there is very little traffic, though.I've been listening to the A Mountain site in Las Cruces, but I finally got a chance to take my BCD325P2 (with the stock antenna) to Alamogordo.
Between Las Cruces and Alamogordo, I could hear Benson Ridge (as well as various conventional channels), but I never heard anything from the Alamogordo site.
I was only able to monitor for a couple of hours, but the silence caused me some concern, as I've never been able to hear Aiden Hills from Las Cruces, either, despite what the coverage map shows.
I double-checked the site programming in my scanner, and didn't find any issues, so perhaps there were simply no affiliated radios during the (short) times I made my observations.

From what I've encountered, I can hear Benson Ridge on Holloman and on the way to Las Cruces. Alamogordo seems to be stronger around the town. The Alamogordo site is on the ground in Alamogordo proper, situated at the base of the mountains while Benson Ridge is...well...on a ridge. I can't hear Benson Ridge at all in Alamogordo.Thanks. Yeah, just my luck I'd miss out! Uniden scanners reportedly display "NFM" when the control channel is lost, and I was seeing a numerical frequency so everything seems to have been working properly.
