Anyone else listening to traffic on TGs 1982, 1983, and 1984 tonight?

1982 RFD (Truck 5, Truck 10)
1983 West Webster (1C32, 1C22) referred to as "Ops 3"
1984 Greece Ridge (2C35, 252)

I submitted 1983 since I heard it referenced by name but don't have a name for the other two. Interestingly enough, I am hearing them on the Monroe East site but not on Monroe West.

TG 1981 is MC ECD Admin. It is possible 198x TG are for ECD internal use and patched to TGs involved in active incidents.

Perhaps, but I was not hearing the same traffic on another TG, and the agencies involved would normally be heard on one of the Ops TGs.

My theory is that these are "overflow" TGs only used when call volume is very high like it was last night.

I looked for, and could not find, the info submitted re TG 1981. IIRC, 1981 and possibly others were for internal ECD 911 Center operations.

Yeah that's what is confusing me. The traffic on 1982/1983/1984 sounded like routine operations communications like you'd hear on one of the OPS TGs.

Just checked the recordings, and it seems you're both a little right.

It's dispatcher training. 1981 is being used for training dispatches (RFD, County fire, and EMS), 1982 through 1984 are being used for mock fireground channels. The fireground channels have one (presumably) dispatch supervisor playing all the roles from "Engine 10 Driver" to "Line Deputy."

1982 confirmed as "Channel 2," 1983 confirmed as "Ops 3," and 1984 confirmed as "Ops 4." Submission pending on all those--I would imagine 1981 has found a new purpose as the training dispatch exclusively, but I didn't put that in the submission.

When 1981 was heard years ago, RFD activity was heard and I got the info from someone involved that it was internal 911 Center use.
Thanks for the update!

I recently got a submission for another county where a group of TGs that had been listed for years as Interop were actually Dispatcher Training.

Mystery solved. I could only go by what I heard live, and it sounded like real traffic. Given how busy the system was last night, "overflow" seemed plausible. The fact that I was hearing "Greece Ridge" traffic on the East site and not the West struck me as odd, but that makes sense now too.

Anyone else notice Phase 2 is off on the system? I'm only monitoring law and the TG's that are normally P2 are just P25 today. I know that the dispatchers have been complaining about reception/Audio the last week or so and I'm wondering if it went down or was turned off?
I will say the audio is much clearer than it has been.

I had not noticed, no. Interesting.

Even MORE interesting. I just heard traffic on 1983, and it seemed related to other traffic on the Fire dispatch TG (but was not a patch). It was a rebroadcast of a call for mutual aid.

Oh, and it was Phase 2.

@sallen07 Seems like more training--some calls going out twice on 1981 and 1983 (training different dispatchers). Although I wouldn't be shocked if the trainers were pulling call ideas from Ops 5.

Side note, 1981 is confirmed as Ops 1.

Yes I think you are right. There was a working fire declared so mutual aid calls were being made, and a couple minutes later one of them was repeated on one of the training TGs.

It looks like law is still Phase 1 tonight but I'm seeing some of the other TGs as Phase 2.
