Hi, while scanning, I had come across a new Ocala Fire Rescue Talkgroup (TGID 816) a while back and gave it an alpha tag on Ocala Fire New... I named it that in my scanner because it sounded like fire talk... then, this morning I heard this ( DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR AT - A, B, C, OR D ) AND THE VOICE ANSWERED ( I AM IN A SMALL ROOM ) then a few minutes later, I heard the first guy say TURN ON YOUR PASS ALARM... which is the personal alarmed safety system which beeps loudly when a firefighter is down and not moving, its a vibration sensored alarm which I wore on my air-pak in New York when I was a fireman.
A few minutes after that, I heard the second guy say that he has located the trapped firefighter, SO, I am thinking this is a Ocala Fire Rescue training exercise which most likely was held in a smoke house training building or a maze as they train with blinders on, over their air masks, to learn the configuration techniques for interior search and rescue. Now I am not sure if its a true OFD training center class, held in Ocala or a course held at the State Fire Academy in Marion County.
I also monitor MCFR training on the MC talkgroup and it sounds as they are doing LIVE fire training, which may also be on the grounds of the Fire Service Academy, because I am thinking that MC does not do live burns at their own training facility, so therefore, I might be picking up MCFR and Ocala transmissions stemming from the property of the Fire Service Academy where they train firefighters for state accredidation at the fire college.
Either way, I will now consider the new Ocala TGID of 816 as a training TAC talkgroup for the Ocala trunk system.
until next time
Kevin
