I'm hearing that suffolk county NY is migrating to P25 type II . According to RR, they will have a simulcast on 700 and 800 MHz through converters. Will I be able to program any of this into my BCT15x or am I going to have to purchase a P25 capable scanner ?

You will need to purchase a P25phase 2 capable scanner. The BCT15x won't support digital signals.

Ok I think I understand. Forgive my newbie-ness. So the simulcasts are both p25 systems and not smartzone II ? Are they just to bridge the 800 to the 700 frequencies? The information on the RRDB is ambiguous.

The system is P25 Phase II, not Smartzone II. Totally different.
