Hi all -

So my PRO-668 stopped working.
My stock memory card appears to have failed as the scanner locks up after boot and gives me a code 3-03.
The stock card does not read correctly on my computer, so I assume it probably failed.

got a new memory card, a 16gb PNY class 10. I fired up the RadioShack PRO-668 software, and used the Scanner/SD Card menu to "Prepare Scanner Memory/SD Card for use. "

I left the boxes checked for copy the configuration/library data.

The scanner will not boot from the new card(!!!) Now I get code 3-01 00000002 FF01

I can read the files on the new card just fine using my PC. The volume label appears correct, the file system type is correct.
I've tried the process a few times and I cannot seem to figure out what I am doing wrong.
Anyone else have this problem?

I sort of ran into this problem with my PSR-800 about a year ago, so I'm a little fuzzy on the details.

I think it may have something to do with the size and (maybe speed) of the SD card or the formatting of the card itself.

What I suggest to do is try a lower capacity card 2 or 3 gigs should be plenty. At least try a lower capacity card and see if that works first.

That's all I got to offer, hope it helps!

Hey Mike - I did buy the smallest card Sprawl-Mart offered, a 16gb unit for just over 7 bucks. I was hoping to find a smaller card but none were to be found.

I wonder if the scanner has a maximum file system size? I can't seem to find the manual online.....

Make sure the SD card is inserted all the way and locked into position. You might also want to get a can of compressed air and blow into the slot, there might be something in the slot making the SD card not make good contact. Also, make sure the LOCK switch on the SD card is not locked, if it has one.

These scanners don't play well with most class 10 cards. I recommend SANDISK 8gb CLASS 4 microsd card on amazon for about $7 shipped with amazon prime

Hey All - Found an 8gb card in another device and did the software copy with the pro-668 software. It booted the scanner on the first try when I powered it back up.

Apparently *some* 16gb cards will not work? (Having read the other thread now, it appears memory cards are a hit-n-miss on these scanners, and some 16gb cards do work)

Hey All - Just an FYI if you have a failure of your stock sandisk microSD memory card.

I attempted to get SanDisk to warranty my failed stock memory card, and they did it. They even sent me a pre-paid label, so it literally cost me nothing but an envelope to get it replaced.

Might be worth the effort to mail it off if yours fails......
