Originally the SDS100 shipped with a smaller battery. But Uniden didn’t like the operating time the battery gave the user. It was too short. So, they offerred free of charge a larger battery and cover to those who bought the radio when it came with only the smaller battery. We were allowed to keep the origional battery. Uniden then no longer offerred the smaller battery as originally shipped. But I believe it’s still available? Maybe not.
