Statcare was dispatched to an MVC in Henry County earlier this week on 155.40000/203.5PL... heard them talking to ground on the Henry County Fire freqs. They also did an inter-facility transfer from Frankfort to Louisville Kosair on the same freq....

That si the correct Louisville frequency for ops in this area.

The only thing I would watch for now is a new "company" frequency. Since they have one in Glasgow, Milton, and one in the Eastern hills, I wonder if they'll try for a new statewide frequency and link them all together. Just speculation on my part. They also have a base in Seymour Indiana.

I used to be able to hear them quite well when they were dispatching from U of L hospital. Since the move to Bowman field I can't hear the base very often, but hear the choppers regularly. Even get to talk to them by radio on occasion.

Just wondering.... anyone hearing anything new or old with this chopper?

I haven't been listening lately, I was over in Madison the other day, but forgot to scan for it.
I'll have to listen a little more closely to StatCare frequency, though lately I think it's been really quiet... or could be my imagination.

Thanx Alan.... I thought it was my imagination, I usually hear them on the weekends fairly often but haven't recently.... wonder if they have switched to another mode of communications?

Well I did two things, I took off the PL tones, and I programmed the Glasgow frequency in my scanner. They also used to have 155.2200 in the old days of "two" helicopters in Louisville. I guess I could also program Air AM frequency in also. There are Indiana helicopters in Seymour, (Statcare), North Vernon, (Dove flight), and Paoli (Air Evac), so thet could be the reason traffic to the North has stopped.

Anyway, I need to start listening closely.

I'm a Medevac freak so I have an entire bank of Medevac freqs from Kentucky and surronding states because so many fly into UK Med... guess I need to check my load and make sure none are locked-out or attenuated or something....

StatCare is current, frequency and PL tone, I heard them 3:30 AM on my portable radio as I was returning to station. Really didn't care about it, tired and wanted to crawl back into bed. But it is accurate, I guess they've just been quiet.

Looked at the FCC data base while seeking other info.... Statcare's freqs are still 155.40000 and 155.34000 as both M and FB2, but I had never noticed the coverage area from their transmitter on Jackson Street: they have 241.0 clicks (on WPDW616) around them. Don't think they will need a new tower or freq for ops from Milton!

Hey Steve:

I heard STATCARE deployed a new EC135 P2 to their Glasgow base. Their web site has some pretty cool pics of it. The FAA reg is N136KY. I haven't monitored it yet here in Bowling Green. They usually visit the Medical Center here quite a bit.

You might check out TAC Air's Airinc frequency on 129.875. The helo may give TAC Air a heads up that they are inbound and how much fuel they will be needing. Just a thought.
