New to digital scanning

I too am new to the Apco-25 Arkansas WIreless Information Network(AWIN) system and am anxious to get my PRO96 scanner to the max level it's designed for. I get lost when trying to program it.
I am interested in Crawford and Sebastian Counties, State Police and Federal frequencies. I have the Radio Shack interface cable but don't know the best way to get what I need for my scanner.
I would appreciate someone making the ordeal simple enough to understand.
I know how to program frequencies and put them i numerical order but when it comes to talkgroups, group ID's and so on.
ANY help will be appreciated !!!

To get your scanner to it's "max level" you should get software to organize everything.
