Anyone copying any actual voice traffic from the new UCA P25 Phase II system? I realize that the new system is still in the process of being deployed and it may not yet be running actual radio traffic. But, I'm monitoring the UT Co simulcast site in sdrtrunk, and I'm seeing call activity but not hearing any actual voice traffic.

I'm running the latest version of sdrtrunk (v.0.5.1-beta1, as of today), and I can see multiple calls in the events tab:

But, I'm not hearing any voice traffic. Obviously, if it's encrypted, sdrtrunk won't monitor it. But, according to the events log in sdrtrunk, there are also regular calls that are not labeled as encrypted, but I do not hear these.

I know that my sdrtrunk setup is working, because I can monitor other local P25 Phase II system and it plays and records the audio just fine.

I've also ensured that I have a wildcard playlist in sdrtrunk that enables listening and recording (using Trunking Recorder) of all talkgroups:

Is anyone else able to actually copy any voice transmissions?

Is anyone able to perhaps hear anything using an SDS100 or similar Phase II capable scanner on this new system?

Thanks!

We've picked up some brief testing traffic when some sites went up, but no other traffic so far. All normal traffic remains on the old UCA system. I suspect there will be a massive migration at some point.

Thanks for confirming. I just thought it was weird that sdrtrunk was logging all of these call activities, but not actually playing back any audio. Perhaps it's misinterpreting some of the traffic.

I've switched it over to monitor on Unitrunker 2 (even though it cannot decode Phase II audio), just to have a log of the activity.

Its only temporary they will eventually go to phase 2, so for now unitrunker will decode the control channel, as well as dsdplus

I need to give DSDPlus a go on this system to see what happens. Can you record in DSDPlus using Trunking Recorder?

Shouldn't it show a frequency assignment for the call? If there is no frequency assigned to it, I don't think it can be a real call.

Ah! That's a good point, Brett! Perhaps the logged "calls" in sdrtrunk are just data anomalies or something else, because there don't appear to be any frequencies logged. OK, that makes me feel a little bit better--I thought I was missing some actual radio traffic.
