Only Uniden would know that, we'll know only when/if one is released. The Uniden rep that was a member here (JoeBearcat) has in the past given a heads-up when new releases were immanent, but he disappeared over 3 months ago without any explanation and hasn't been seen since.

Four 2024 updates. Zero 2025 updates. Anybody's guess

No issues in particular, just like to have the latest firmware on my scanners.

If it ain’t broke, don’t rush to fix it. I’ve learned my lesson about applying firmware updates “just because” unless it specifically addresses an issue I am experiencing, and even then I let others step off the ledge first.

Good advice. Here's the other extreme - I've owned my 996T since 2007/2008 and never did a firmware update. Guess what - I have never had a day of trouble with the radio.

What are you looking for in an update? Are there issues with the current FW or are you looking for additional features?

the latest FW for the 996P2 is 1.10.02. it's on my 4 personal scanners and about 12 or so at work. No problems...

Yep...I looked at the one 996P2 with a broken encoder that I use for hearing my local airport so I never bothered to update it. the others are correct...thanks for looking out for me.
