• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I posted in wrong thread (at-6666) at any rate received the Q6 pro yesterday. Was unsure how I felt about it last night with limited radio time. Don’t know if this one shipped with firmware updates or not. Don’t care. This thing has grown on me today. Internal speaker doesn’t cut it with my old ears. Beyond that I’m loving it. I think I got lucky and got all my settings nailed down first try. Probably because I’m familiar with the Anytone line of radios. At the very least my Q5N2 will be getting a well deserved vacation.

We’ve overlapped on more than one occasion those two threads.

DRIVER EXTREME DRX-9010 Extension Speaker is the high fidelity piece I strongly recommend.

The DRX-9010 mounted above left shoulder and slightly behind head.

Also at BOBS CB

How I had it in last truck. Use a wall and/or corner to optimize as just placed on desk and aimed at self ain’t greatest (any speaker).

there is a bug or two in the programming software version 205 that ships with the v101 firmware
for the 6666pro.

If you dont read from the radio first (i.e. you open the software , load your codeplug , write straight to radio)
that you will lose memory banks M,N & O and it seems the only way to get them back is to read from an unaffected radio
then write back to an affected one, or maybe reflash firmware 101?

I read about it here:

I received the K-link fan kit today and installed it on my Q6pro. Very nice design and put it through a torture test tonight. Works great. Locals and regular DX friends never met face to face. Glad I bought it… great $40 investment if you ask me!!!
