Hi All,

I'm not sure if I stumbled onto something, or if this is already known to some of you; but I decided today (8/04/2019) to do a "Control Channel Only" search using my BC396T for a VSTARS search, just for "grins and giggles". I am located in Western Henrico County. I had been using the Richmond site (listed as 001 in the DB, located in Chesterfield). The radio locked onto 152.0400 and had the exact same SID as the Chesterfield site: 019Eh-0101. The control channel came in very solidly: 152.0400. A search of the DB page for all of the VSTARS sites not only showed nothing as a control channel anywhere for that frequency, but no site using that frequency at all! The other frequencies used (after monitoring for at least an hour) are: 159.1125, 159.1875, 159.2625

The Chesterfield site shares three of the above frequencies, but has a total of ten, including the primary CC of 152.0375 an alternate CC of 151.1525.

The new "site" used the same IDs as the Chesterfield site. I was able to switch between the two and follow the same conversations. Some of the IDs noted are:
5030: (DOT TAC 4, Safety Service Patrol, Richmond)
1: VSP Ric 1 (Richmond 1)
3: VSP Ric 2 (Richmond 2)

So, perhaps this is a new "filler" site of some kind? I'd be interested for others to monitor this same control channel (perhaps with a more sophisticated setup than I have!) and tell us whatcha think!

152.04 is only 2.5 khz higher than 152.0375, you are likely hearing the Chesterfield site, just a bit off.

Ah, good point! Looks like I may have to self-administer a "dope slap"

I wonder why the Chesterfield site is only using the four frequencies? It is currently listed as the ten I mentioned (see the DB). It's only using the three I mentioned for the "new" site, plus the one CC of 152.0375. I am definitely not knowledgeable enough about trunking to know why that would be.
In other words, Chesterfield, if my BC396T is to be believed, is currently only using:
CC:152.0375
159.1125, 159.1875, 159.2625

I have all of the frequencies the DB has listed for that site programmed in the radio, too. Hmmm....
