I collected and printed the frequency listings from this thread for comparison and summary. Now I am confused.

Does anyone have the full, correct list of Ranger repeaters, locations, and output tones? I have input tones, but they are not the same as the output tones.

I have received a couple of direct contacts about this and I thank those individuals for your help.

Has anyone collected an updated encon freq list? I want to add CG to the rx on my feed to get rid of some noise and want to make sure I don't miss anything. LOL

I don't recommend posting such lists in the Wiki with the individuals' names. For one thing, it would have to be updated every time someone changes positions or assignments. More importantly, while DEC might not object to a listing being assembled of their unit number allocations, they might consider the publication of staff names to be an invasion of privacy.

As no flipside indicated, the names are posted on the DEC website, I simply added their unit #. It would be nice if DEC added this information to their postings

Indeed- as written in the Wiki user's guide, this is a technical violation of policy. Please don't add people's names, addresses, phone number, extensions, or anything else that can identify a specific individual

Updates to RX and TX PL codes for NYS Forest Rangers?

I have been working with the helpful info supplied last spring by KC2NY, MB, jraymond68 and others regarding NYS Forest Ranger channels and PL codes. I was wondering if anyone had any recent updates with respect to that info? Like others, I"d be interested in both the TX and Rx PL codes. Also curious if anyone has any data on Ranger repeater locations in Western NY and what CTCSS codes are in use out here. Thanks in advance.

For awhile it seemed like the DEC changed PL tones every other week (at least here in Region 6).

Here's what is in my scanner:

Region 6

159.435 "Gomer Hill" PL 77.0 <---- heavily used -- units still call out to Ray Brook
159.435 "Star Hill" PL 100.0

159.465 "Star Hill" PL 79.7 <---- this where I hear units call in/out of service with "Central"

Don't forget in Herkimer County ENCON and RANGERS use Herkimer County 911 MRD channel frequently. 155.610 PL 162.2 for Town of Ohio and areas South of Ohio and 155.610 PL131.8 for Webb/Old Forge/Stillwater Area.

I'm going camping starting this weekend.... I'll bring my BCD396XT with me and see if I can get some Region 5 PLs!

Happy Scanning Everyone!

Thanks for the response John. I have updated my spreadsheet with your data. I am still missing many of the repeater input PL codes for 151.220 and 151.280 and am working to try to fill in those gaps. Also still hoping to get some data on Western NY repeaters and codes.

If it is of interest, the state wilderness Search and Rescue mutual aid frequency is 155.160 (currently wideband simplex, PL 131.8 for Tx & Rx). I am a member of a Western NY search and rescue team and that is our primary frequency when we are working with the Rangers on a search. We also use 153.890 and 154.770 (both wideband simplex and both 131.8 PL for Tx & Rx) for training and searches. The NYS Federation of Search and Rescue teams resource manual (http://www.nysfedsar.org/NYSFEDSAR2009ResourceManual.pdf) also lists additional frequencies for teams in other parts of the state
