Guys,

I successfully managed to sell my 396XT last weekend, so I will only be continuing to support my FreeScan file through the end of the month.

Many thanks to all those that have downloaded the file over all these years!

Thanks for your efforts on posting your file; it became a template for me & i hope for others using FS;
with the new Uniden and even the GRE radios many people are making corrections and making custom files for their areas ; i hope people will post those files so when & if the rest of us move up to phase 2 and the like we can have a working template to work from

I very much plan on sharing my HPE files from Sentinel.

If I understand how the memory structure is working from what I knew from my HP-1, there will be separate favorite lists for:

  • North Jersey
  • South Jersey
  • Metro NYC
  • Eastern PA
  • Delaware
  • Maryland & DC
It will basically mimic what I had in my 396XT (I travel quite a lot for work).

while I dont have the new uniden - Yet - I have been playing around with SENTINEL - building a Favorites lists - how do you import your FL from another user - the file look like fl000001. xx but how do you give the list a name under the files section ? how do I use/import your files customized for Warren County, I cant get to import onto my FL;
As people build FL's and want to share - how do u share /import?

You don't actually mess with the FL as it sits on your PC. You go on the main screen in Sentinel & go into the 'File' menu. There you will see the import & export choices. When exporting, it will ask you what FL to export, and then how much of it. Then it will save the file as an .hpe file with whatever name you choose.

When importing the .hpe files, you will be asked to choose an existing FL to import to, or to create a new one. You do not have the same option as when exporting to only do a partial import. I hope they fix that in the future...

Just to make sure, you are using the x36 Sentinel, not the HP-1 version, right?

I tested it by exporting one of my FL's & then re-importing it to a new FL called 'TEST'. It worked flawlessly...

Yes - using x36; so i downloaded your zip again and they are all hpe now;
BUT I went and up graded Ver 1.01.07 to 1.02.01 and lost my FL's ! the newer version x36 would not load them ? its wants a new FL but my old FL are missing
I find the software easy to customize if only i can stop loseing the work i have done - except !! I exported only a small fraction of my files to the files section so under 1.02.01 i imported those back but hours of the rest of the original 2 FL's are gone

Fairfield NJ Police Frequency Query

I looked up the Fairfield NJ Police in Essex County and found 853.3625 listed as F1. I've listened there and cannot hear any signals.
Does anyone have any information: Are they digital? Are they someplace else?
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks es 73
Dan

They are full - time on the NJICS trunk system. They are FDMA, so the existing batch of digital scanners can receive them.

Michael,

I'm using my Kenwood TH-F6. Guess I won't be hearing them on that radio.
I figured they were someplace else.
Anyway thanks for getting back.
Very 73,
