I am a frequent listener to Cape May County Communications on the NJICS state system. It appears as if paging for FD / EMS remains on UHF while operations have migrated over to P25 talkgroups (CM Fire East, CM Fire West etc). I am wondering if anyone has any information on if there will be a P25 Fire Dispatch channel with paging for agencies dispatched by Cape May County Communications? Appreciate any information anyone has.

Nothing has changed and nothing is changing in the foreseeable future. They are still dispatching on 154.1300 and then rebroadcasting it on the talkgroup used by the t own. For example if Cape May City gets a call, it goes out on 154.1300 and on the Fire-South tal kgroup (4985)

I appreciate the information. I'm wondering if eventually everything will transition over to P25 but I'm willing to bet it's a monetary thing. Thanks again!

Most agencies continue to dispatch on VHF/UHF conventional frequencies because of the thousands of pagers, station alerting and siren control units that would need to be replaced to work directly on the newer trunked radios systems (TRS... P25 or other). There would be little to no benefit to spend millions on this changeover. They almost all simulcast their dispatches on a talkgroup on their TRS for monitoring, as well as for newer pagers that can operate on trunked systems.

Literally just came here looking for this answer. Recently got an sds100 with a remtronix antenna. Mostly everything on the uhf dispatch is unreadable static. Anything I can do to help that?
