Hello; can someone please tell me if the njsp troop b system is still a typeii system ? Also are these the correct frequencies for the system.

These are from the RR data bank.

Red* are Primary Control Channels, Blue* are alternate control channels

Site Description Freqs
001 Simulcast 856.4625 856.9625 857.4625 857.9625* 858.4625 858.9625* 859.4625 859.9625* 860.4625
860.9625* 866.5625 867.2375 867.7625

I programed this system into my uniden 785d as a type II system.

I am using bank 7 in the scanner and starting at the first channel in that bank. That would be channel 701. The system seems to work find for a little while and then stops tracking like if it is not picking up the control channel. I have the NJ transit system in my radio also which is a type II system and that tracks fine no problems.

Any ideas ?

Thank You

Fred

The system is a Type II system and the control channel are 860.9625, 859.9625, 858.9625, 857.9625.

They've been doing quite a bit of work on the system lately and rolling the control channel several times a day. I'd suggest maing sure you have all 12 channels programmed in.

Another interesting point is channels 11 and 12 are not at all sites. So any traffic over those channles may be weak/no copy depending on where you are located.

Which frequency/channel listed on the RR database is not valid for Troop B?

I didn't post it on the database and secondly I do not pay any attention to Troop B, so I don't read that part of the database. I do happen to have a PDF File for all systems for the State Police and just figured I would help you out. You can submit a correction to the database if you wish.

867.2375 is a valid freq. I am hearing Troop B talking on it right now on my scanner. It might be a new one for the digital system...I don't recall seeing it in previous months.

10-4. I was just going by the info RocketNJ posted that there were 12 in the system. There are also 12 listed for them on the PDF file I have for them and that one wasn't included. But I guess they now have 13.

Even if it was an invalid frequency, I don't think it would have mattered if it was programmed into the system in the scanner. As long as all of the valid frequencies are programmed in, the system will work. At least that's what I was told when I was first learning about trunking.

You are correct. The PDF File I was using was updated to include 867.2375, and I didn't see it. However it still lists 867.7625 as a valid frequency. I will inform the author about it being an invalid frequency. My apologies for posting the incorrect information.

Thanks to both of you for your time and effort. Even though I have the invalid frequency still active, I don't have any problems receiving Troop B. At least I now know why I had 13 not 12 frequecies. Go figure.
