Ive programmed the ICIS control channels for Glendale, CA using the RR database frequencies. This is a Smrtnet 2 system so I also programmed the Base 470.0125, Spacing (step) 12.5, and Offset of 380. All channels in my bank 9 are MO (+) and the bank is also MO. Also, all the channels are set to Open (+). My question:

Here is an example of what I see when my Pro-96 stops on a channel, all 4 lines on my display show the following:

S926 D MO
VC 410.1250
Bank 9 channel 26
MOT: 01488

Problem: I hear a slight hiss when this channel data shows but I DO NOT hear any dialogue.. The same hiss is heard briefly on the other frequencies with 4 lines of data but the radio is silent. Ive rotated the Squelch, but the channel is still silent.

What am I doing wrong? Also, if a Custom Frequency table does not show any Offset, then what should the offset be?

Would more than one set of control channels in the same bank cause this silence?

Thanks to you Pros.

I'm not sure if this will fix your problem, but it worked for me:

After entering your base/step/offset, you need to go into the menu for either the 3600 cc mode or the 9600 cc mode and point it to use your new table values.

Enter:
Function 3 - for 3600 mode menu
Function 4 - for 9600 mode menu

I think the choices are: "Normal" - "Table" - "Custom table".
Choose table.

The user manual does not clearly list this step.
I had a problem something like yours. This step fixed it.

Good luck.

The above is usually caused by incorrect table programming. The scanner is going to the wrong voice channel.

I am not sure what table setting to use or what baud rate. How do I determine that?

Thanks.

The analog TG's make it 3600. However, you will need Win96 to set the multi tables.
Custom Frequency Table

Base:470.0125 480.5000
Spacing:12.5 12.5
Offset:380 xxx

I don.t know the second offset values.

Did you try selecting the "table" setting in the 3600 menu? (function 3)

"table"? The system is multi table. The single table setting produced "I got some traffic but some channels are still sillent. Some thing is still not set properly." He is missing the second table which cannot be set using the keypad. Multi table can be selected using FUNC 2, but only one set of tables can be keyed in with the keypad...Solution, Win96.
