For the first time since the migration to P25 last summer, I heard transmissions on 853.4875 using FM, DCS 271. This is a simplex freq. I was on the Monitor-Merrimac Bridge-Tunnel at the time; obviously was being weakly received. Just a note to those interested that it's still being used.

At first, I was going to say Norfolk was the only one but I later discovered on my own website (DOH!) that VB Sheriff Dept and utilities use that freq as well as Newport News PD. I had found Chesapeake PD.s ch 16 once in P25 mode; I think it may be the same freq.

Now, I'm not sure who I heard. It'd be a good idea to keep that freq programmed in multiple scan lists (according to however you organize yours) in automatic mode and ctcss/dcs/nac search activated.

Possible VSP system for tunnels.

Frequency 853.4875 also assigned to VSP. Refer to attached license callsign WQPK533.
