What he said. It won't mean much from a scanning point of view, though we'll probably have a bunch of new TG numbers to deal with.

What will be interesting is to see what they do with the xmtr sites. IIRC, both DPS Site 25 and the Norman West site are on the Sarkeys Energy Center on campus while the Norman East site is out by Lake Thunderbird (now featuring water!). My guess is that one of the two "sites" at SEC will just "go away" ...

I would assume that DPS is going to have the licensed frequencies added to it's system here in the metropolis somewhere. Freqencies are just too valuable to give up when you are doing a large buildout like they are doing.

I was told by the person in charge of the Norman PD radios that they were going to be switching over the NORMAN system to 12.5kHz spacing and eventually migrating it over to P25... he didn't say anything about switching to the statewide system...

It would be really stupid of them not to join. Especially since Moore, OKC, and Edmond are in the process of building what looks to be a multi site system linked to the rest of the state. Shawnee converted to the state why wouldn't Norman. Is it that OU pride! LOL just kidding! Really why wouldn't they?
