Have gotten some great help from a couple of people and I thank you so much.

We are still hoping to fill in the callsigns for the following:

Dare EMS, Manteo NC (have 1 helo listed)
Med Center Air, Charlotte, NC (have 3 helos listed)
Mountain Area Medical Airlift (MAMA) (have 4 helos listed)

That should complete the NC Medical Helos list. And, again, I thank everyone who contributed information.

I believe East care 3 loaner is N935MC, if this is not correct I'll correct in Wiki. Appreciate the updates.

BTW, just wondering, the Viper radios being used, are they assigned to the crew or aircraft?

Dare Medflight uses N401MF a EC145 T2 Based at Dare Co Airport
They use backups from airbus helicopters. I’ve seen N980ME recently.

MedCenter Air has 4 helos (all EC135) and use "MedCenter #," sometimes shortened to "Med #" for their callsigns. Med 1 is based at Concord Regional Airport KJQF, Med 2 is at Hickory Regional Airport KHKY, Med 3 is at Rock Hill Airport KUZA, and Med 4 is a spare. They're dispatched on VIPER TG 51533. They also multiselect across Palmetto 800 on TG 51705.

MAMA has 3 helos (all EC135), and use "MAMA" as their callsign. MAMA 1 is based at Mission Hospital in Asheville, MAMA 2 is at Angel Medical Center in Franklin, and the third helo is a spare. They are both dispatched on VIPER TG 51584.

Hope this helps.

Medcenter Airs tail numbers are

1- N433CM
2- N436CM
3-N438CM
Backup- N162AE

All are EC135s

MAMAS Primary aircrafts are MAMA 1-N135N. 2-N135CP
MAMAs Backps are used accross as the state. I’ve seen them use n235DH, N137MH and N935MC. They are the same backups used by baptist and eastcare.

I added RID information on Baptist Air Care, MAMA and Wings as well as tail numbers for Wings to the Wiki. I'll have to look in my database but I definitely have more RIDs for others, I will double check to see what's already there.

Thanks NCFireman11 being in Raleigh makes it difficult to hear them unless they fly into the Triangle.

Do you know what callsign they use?

When you say call sign do you mean what they identify as on radio? If so they use “ Dare Medflight”. The Dare Co EMS channel for them is patched to DARE EMS on VIPER. Can also add Sentara Nightingale to your list even though it’s out of state

Main helo( Eurocopter EC-145):N145 NG

Backup (Eurocopter BK-117): N117NG
Dispatched on 462.9500 PL 100.0
Also sometimes on ORION 700, TG 1452

Thanks LeSueurC, that's exactly what I meant.

As for Sentara, appreciate the additional info they are listed in the out of state section but I didn't know the freqs or backup. Saw Nightingale tonight on Flightradar down at the Outerbanks.

Hey

The VIPER portables at EastCare are assigned to each unit. Each unit, ground and air, has enough portables for each crew member, pilot/EMT, nurse, paramedic. Some units have enough to have day shift and night shift radios. Each crew member is to carry his/her radio at all times. We have stopped using alpha/numeric pagers and have transitioned to Apple Cellphones which received text messages with the dispatch information.

All transports are dispatched via both radio and text message. The air transports are preceded by an alert tone on Air Ops talk group, also known as Ops 3. Ground dispatch will call the unit to notify of job but no alert tone. That occurs on Ground Ops or Ops 2

The trucks all have mounted Motorola vehicle radios. The aircraft have multi-band , low VHF, Hi VHF, UHF and 800 radios

Mountain Area Medical Airlift (MAMA) has two primary aircraft. N135NC is an EC135 and is located at Mission hospital in Asheville. The second primary aircraft is an EC135 located at Angel Hospital in Franklin. I will get the other tail number later.

Tonight I heard Airlink 3, N891T, on Viper TG LZCENTDIG with RID 2077898, doing a training flight with a "new hire pilot" requesting to do a touch and go landing at UNC before heading to Duke Durham.

New medical helicopter has arrived in North Carolina, identifying itself as 135TG, this EC35 Med Helo is using RID of 2076066 which has previously been logged as Air Life 1 (which would be from AirLife Virginia). Heard for first time today TG LZCENTDIG, according to Flightaware flight history, it's oly been here about a week or two. Is anyone able to confirm who is using this bird?

That is the former Baptist AirCare 3 base that was operated by AirMethods Corp. When Baptist switched to Metro Aviation as their vendor they placed a new AirCare 3 at the Martinsville Airport and AirMethods continued their community based aircraft there under the new name AirLife Virginia. Not sure what they ended up doing for VIPER, they were borrowing one of MedCenter Air's talkgroups when they started operations, I'm guessing they are on TG52700. If you need any further help let me know, I have inside info on this particular industry.
