For those in the Southeastern part of the state, AirLife now has a new Helo based at Lumberton Rescue Squad according to a recent Facebook posting. They will utilize the Helipad at the rescue squad and construction is underway for a hangar and crew quarters.

Looks like N135CJ will be the helicopter stationed in Lumberton, at least for now (based on flight data from the area)

Appears East Care has added a helicopter that is operating out of Lincolnton.

R44 is not a medical helicopter, if anything it’s a old East Care n-number. The registration does not come back to East Care or Air Methods

Haha having flown in both a R44 and a EC135 (N919WM) I got to say 135 was much nicer for medical transport.

yeah i bet it was cramped in an R44. You need to quit getting hurt so often.

I suppose this only marginally counts, but how about N405NC. I saw it doing medical transport type stuff the other day :)

briefly at one point before switching over to the HART TG everyone was using. Thought that was kinda interesting. Called it Charlie 1 i think.

Nope they are definitely NCSHP, spent a couple hours listening to some "maneuvers" they were doing with other agencies last week, and have actually seen this one. It's a new fed surplus one they got.

Haha nah I use to work for WakeMed so I’ve been out on the helicopters a few times.

yup
This might be well known already but I will just throw it in here

From the Med Trans website

Novant Health Med Flight - Salisbury NC

Cape Fear LifeLINK Air - 1 at Laurenburg NC - 2 at Dunn NC - emergency telephone numbers are - 800.219.5454 or 910.615.5359

----------------------------

Med Trans usually supplies the helo, pilot, hangar, and mechanic. They might also supply med crew, dispatch, tracking, and billing. But that varies from location to location.

I'll update the wiki page tomorrow if you haven't already taken care of it. Thanks for the info.

Are they basing the Dunn one at Betsy Johnston? Surprised, as they aren't affiliated (yet) with anyone. Wonder if they are about to be bought out by Cape Fear. Normally Duke or UNC flies that area, since Duke is based just down the road in Smithfield.

transylvania county used regional 1 out of spartanburg sc as well as ghs out of greenville sc quite a bit.

and mama 2 has a vanity n number of sorts. the CP stands for Corey Pittman. a mama crew member who was a special fella. a wonderful medical provider. a outstanding educator. Corey is missed badly.

A few updates on Baptist AirCare & NC AirLife:

Baptist AirCare 2 base has been moved from Elkin Airport to Wilkes County Airport to provide better coverage to the western parts of their territory. I think this move happened this past Monday.

NC AirLife 2 in Lumberton supposedly will become a UNC AirCare Helo 2020 or 2021. AirLife 2 is already being dispatched by UNC AirCare on VIPER UNC AirCare Ground Disp (TG#52342). I'm guessing this is a patch or multi-select coming across my scanner?
