The scanning hobby in Colorado is dead and dying.
As Steve the O.P. pointed out this forum is pretty much dead. Scanning the Eastern front range of Colorado for law enforcement is all but history.
It was accelerated when Denver PD switched over to their phase 2 P25 system in 2019 and nearly all area agencies with a couple of exceptions jumped on the ENC bandwagon after seeing how Denver was able to block out the media with an unacceptable "contract". Denver fire pulled the plug on an AVD talk-group and VHF dispatch patch after a CBS Colorado news report on DFD last year.
What few L.E. that were left have quietly switched over time. Northglenn is the latest L.E. agency to join the club. This only leaves Federal Heights PD and Brighton PD as the only metro area L.E. agencies monitorable in the Denver Metro area.
Brighton is dispatched by ADCOM and is likely to follow shortly. ADCOM has been slowly adding ENC to law agencies they dispatch. Recently Commerce City and now Northglenn have been switched over.
All L.E. in Arapahoe, Douglas and Larimer county are ENC. Colorado Spings PD and everything in the City of Pueblo as well.
At the time of this post Aurora (dispatchers only), Blackhawk, Boulder (POLICE/LAW-1), Boulder County law agencies (except Longmont), Clear Creek County and Gilpin County are monitorable as long as this lasts.
Weld county with the exception of TAC groups are in the clear at this time. Colorado State Patrol as well.
