This may happen to the SDS200 also as well as others models, but I've confirmed it on my SDS100.

Randomly I turn my SDS100 on and it will show it's sitting on a frequency and will show "DATA", but the system ID, site number and RFSS are blank and it won't receive any calls. Today I confirmed it finds an active IV&D (data) channel being used before it finds a CC and stays on that. A power cycle usually clears this, assuming it finds a CC before a data channel. I don't recall my x36HP series ever doing this. I've seen others report this symptom as well.

I guess a fix is to delete all but the known CC's as those shouldn't be in the IV&D rotation I believe (but I'm not positive about, I'll have to check).

Maybe this can be added to the "list". ;)

Yes, I've seen this issue when I turn my SDS100 on occasion, and the same resolution. Different SD cards haven't worked.

Correct to assume you're running latest firmware? 1.09.02 looks to have addressed an issue detecting control channel while held onto one site. Not sure if it applies to issue at hand or not but figured I'd still put it out there...

Yes.

ETA...What 1.09.02 did was turn off "housekeeping" when only listening to one site. So it didn't fix anything related to detecting a CC.

Now now, have a little faith and patience...it's only been 430 days since @JoeBearcat appeared on the scene...surely you can't expect the issues he asked about 1 year, 2 months, and 6 days ago to be fixed overnight...sheesh! đź‘€

I am continually asking HQ for some engineer time to work on the issues. (as recently as a week ago or so)

Unfortunately, I do not schedule that.

Having only the CC's seems to have alleviated the issue. Almost 2 months and I haven't had the issue.

Added missing word. Sucks getting old.

It sounds like it was getting stuck on a data channel (other than a control channel)
That was already definitively concluded by myself and Kevin in earlier posts. The scanner should not be getting hung up on a data channel by mistaking it for a control channel, but that's precisely what happened. Oh well, not as if anyone is going to expect that to be fixed, ever.

Old? LOL. I turn 68 next month. I am hoping for 70. When I reached a certain stage in my life, older, dad said to me, "Boy, you are in the "Rusty Zipper" club.

Old mage is fun. I cannot wait until I reach the stage of curmudgeon. You can get by with almost anything. All you might hear in the background is, "He is just old."

I am happy I can see the SDS 100 manual.

Monitoring a site I don't normally monitor today. It's a very heavy data user site and I didn't realize I had all 10 frequencies programmed in. After about 5 minutes of no voice I noticed it was stuck on a data channel, removed all but the 4 CC's and it's taking away now.

I wonder how many people are having this issue and don't actually realize it???
