This frequency I've been listening to for many years, it's a rebroadcast of the Bucks County Phase 2 Fire South band, response band and emergency band.

Very convenient to scan on a modified Yaesu ft65 that is very small and compact, I also listen to fire East and a few other VHF and UHF Bristol Township and Bristol borough VHF and UHF frequencies used for fire police off of the county system and EMA..

Anybody know if the frequency has changed or the pl has changed? This would be quite a loss.. broadcastify playlist for fire dispatch has each fire talk group separately listed and radio scanner app has fire South working, it's just they're not convenient if it's not in my one radio. Might as well use the SDS 100 if this frequency is gone.

Thanks for any information about what happened to this frequency. I hope it's temporary.

John have you ever been able to receive it? It's kind of low power even though it comes in very clear in the lower end of the county I don't know if this would reach you.

Yes, I last logged it years ago from Montco. They must have reduced power since then. I was also able to pick up the N/S/E/W fire rebroadcast from 460.625 PL 94.8 but evidentially I've lost that too. No issues picking up the county TRS on my SDS100 connected to a Pulse Larsen tribander on my roof

Yes I use a Larson tri-band on my trunk, the newer version with the spring and yes they clearly reduced the power to this missing frequency a long time ago. Still excellent reception in Bristol Township, Bristol borough, Croydon and Bensalem, as I say I listen to it every day till a week ago.

I haven't even tried the 460 MHz in a long time. It would dispatch all of the county Fire and EMS with all the tones but it would also cover response and operations of the South band. There is no more West band, that was integrated into fire South.

I'll give it time to see if somebody see's my post that might have some inside information from the county. This is really going to be missed as I'm in the south band coverage. I hate to monitor the phase 2 system as I only monitor one system at a time and that is NJICS for the Marine Division on the river and State Police helicopter dispatch.

Thanks for your help, I didn't post this until I was really sure but this weekend I tested it every which way and it's gone.

As Rosanna Rosanna Danna said.. it's always something.😊

Oh yes it was for the pagers, it's been around for a long long time, I wonder if they're going to get rid of the rebroadcast VHF for the East band, Central band and North band?

It was nice being able to use a conventional radio like the Yaesu ft 65.. very loud, built like a brick and smaller than a pack of cigarettes. I'm going to miss it. I do use it for 2 m.

I guess I'm going to put the sds100 back in the car paired with the Larson triband.

I hadn't really looked at the database that closely before wanting to hear from someone if they know anything. It certainly does not look good.

Thanks for stepping in and commenting, that's very helpful.

The license WQDS898 licensed to Bristol was for 1 Fixed Base and a
slew of Pagers. 19 watts ERP
The license expires in October 2025 and they have
not submitted paper work to renew so it doesn’t look good.
The earliest you can renew a license is 90 days prior to the expiration date. That would be July 26th for this license, so the fact that no renewal application has been submitted yet is a non-factor.

Yep what is important is that it's not receivable anymore.. it could be a technical problem, it's not the first time that happened. If they are permanently getting rid of it what is the fire departments using for paging?

All of the other districts the VHF is still active. I'll keep my ears on and hope that maybe it is just a technical problem and that they will renew the license. Thanks everybody.

That repeater as well as 460.625 used to be on Grundy Towers. They were evicted about a year or two ago and thus the reduction of reception. I do not know where they were relocated to, however. With the equipment owner/coordinator being up in age, it would not surprise me to learn he is no longer maintaining the equipment. He is/was a member here, so if he's still around perhaps he will weight in at some point.

Yes I know exactly who you are talking about and he has several other VHF frequencies. One of them repeats the turnpike maintenance, Bucks County fire dispatch which is too busy for me, the Boro Channel and New Jersey SPEN 1.

I'm in WARC and we lost our input on Grundy Tower about a year ago. Actually I was hoping he was the one that was going to step in and say what's going on.. I remember there was a maintenance problem a long time ago and he said it'll be a week or two and it came back, I know he's getting on in years. The 460 megahertz County Wide dispatch was on the Oxford Valley Mall Tower forever also.

Welcome to radio reference.

Oh and if I had to guess I would say he moved to the Grundy skating rink who who Bristol borough sold to a private company it's at the top of the hill on Beaver Street about a half a mile from Grundy Tower. That would be the best place.

Are you sure 460 was at OVM? I seem to recall it being at Grundy with all his other Borough-related repeaters. I know he had the East Band repeater on the WPST broadcast tower up on Lincoln Highway in Falls, but I don't remember him ever mentioning OVM. There was a time when I could pick up East and 460 down in Delco with ease. The good ole days...

I could have forgotten but this would have been when fire was still on the 46 MHz low band moving over to UHF.. 460 megahertz. so we are talking a long long time ago.

Honestly I can't remember but I always relate ovm with that frequency. It had a far reach towards the North. I assume that you know best. It could be wpst which is near ovm

I was on Beaver Street for 23 years. I still have the house in Levittown right near the ovm.

Honestly as the years go by so does my memory. I'm going to defer to you and assume you know best.😆.

I used to have his contact information.. this frequency has gone down before. I also remember where he lives.

Do you think you have any more information on him so that maybe I can try to contact him. If it's gone, it's gone but..

Check that Antenna base for cracks and didn't suck in water. I have two of them, less than two years old and both split at 4 places..... That reminds me to send them a WTF email.....

@PhillyFireFeed when you mentioned the WPST tower which is very close to the ovm, I think you are right.

I should go into the scanner graveyard in the garage and dig up some of Joe cardani's first Philly guides and check them out or maybe the largest of the 3 monitor America books also.😁
