i`m glad i don`t do HF
Why are you "glad" about that?

Yeah, that one is good for a laugh when ya need some "off color" entertainment, but it does get old really quick
Everyone has a story about a jammer that was kicked off the air due to someone's heroic actions. But usually these are second and third hand accounts that don't amount to anything.
14.313 is all but dead given the solar cycle.
Many of the denizens are now raising hell on 7.200 during the day causing all kinds of chaos.
7.200 has recently become quite the cess-pool.... [A]s of late the 14.313 crowd has taken over and it has become over the top... with... the worst kinds of... ugliness.... I hope the FCC cleans up the vile offenders soon. Their identities are well known.
This is NOT rocket-science!
Nearly all knowledgeable [there's the rub] right-thinking radio amateurs reading this would/should agree that most names/call-signs that repeat themselves and may be otherwise closely connected on two and especially more of the above hopefully ~objectively derived initial short-lists, are by definition radio problem-children needing SERIOUS 'remedial attention'....
What say you?

You bet. 7.200 has recently become quite the cell pool of language. I don't mind most of the shenanigans and mild cussing etc that go on, but as of late the 14.313 crowd has taken over and it has become over the top with extreme vile language and the worst kinds of juvenile ugliness. I just turn the VFO these days. Much better things to do. I hope the FCC cleans up the vile offenders soon. Their identities are well known.
People have been filing complaints for at least a DECADE on this, and little has been done except Notices of Apparent Liability, which to the best of my knowledge are being ignored. The FCC is complaint driven.
I say again;
The FCC is complaint driven.
The FCC will take action on an issue once informed by complaint from the public, and will generally not do so beforehand unless life safety is a potential problem. If you are affronted by the indecent quality of a radio user's transmission and are aware of their location or identity, please, contact the FCC, submit a complaint, and stand by.
14.313 is where I go to tune up.
. That's precisely WHY many of us resist the pressure from the elmers and oldtimers to upgrade to Hf ... too much like cb. With infantile behavior like that, fm simplex is nice and quiet so why bother? The antennas need to be physically larger, more rf just to get over the Qrm? I'm good where I am!Amusing "chit-chat",1900-2200 UTC, hams getting VERY upset at "Donnie",QRM'ing. He will go up to 14314,and call CQ over and over, apparently to annoy others on lower freqs. strong sig here in central Illinois. He claims to be in Georgia. I won't repeat his call-sign,but I will bet many here have heard him, other hams claim this has been going on for months. All USB.
True, but then I've got enough equipment already, so I need an hf rig like a hole in the head. 73, n9zasYou wouldnt have to go hang out on .313 if you were on hf... Lots of other places to talk and do digital modes...
....Now that said, i`m glad i don`t do HF, but listening to that freq is good for a laugh once in a while....
This is like turning in your driver's license because you saw someone speeding. There is a HUGE amount of frequency spectrum available and being used by responsible, mature operators. There are a few problem areas that one can easily avoid; those few frequencies discussed here, the several frequencies staked out (and presumably owned) by the ED/Hemorrhoid/Gall Bladder Net folks, but that still leaves a LOT of space to enjoy HF and DX.. That's precisely WHY many of us resist the pressure from the elmers and oldtimers to upgrade to Hf ... too much like cb...
{ETA: Simplex is quite limited on VHF/UHF and there is a whole frontier out there.} Our local 2 meter net picked up a new problem just yesterday: A moron who was both using obscene language, personally attaching other operators and transmitting noise/dead key over the traffic net. It took them months to catch the last weenie doing this, but he was caught and this one doesn't seem very sophisticated. VHF/UHF bands are clearly not immune, and with the influx of cheap radios, I suspect the problems will grow there too. Sometimes, the 2 meter repeater usage seems more like CB, with a fair amount of transient traffic and the ever-present regulars....With infantile behavior like that, fm simplex is nice and quiet so why bother?...
THIS is a valid reason to avoid HF. If antenna space is unavailable or unsuitable, then sure, it makes successful HF work hard, but even that obstacle can often be mitigated with a little ingenuity....The antennas need to be physically larger,...
"more RF" [power] isn't the answer and the problems caused by the problem children on these few frequencies doesn't affect the whole band....more rf just to get over the Qrm? I'm good where I am!. 73, n9zas
