• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

FPP wide, no, must be by pc. From HQ.
I will ask one more time.
Thank you! Not a game changer--but handy. FPP is essential for this line of work IMO.
Non Priority volume ? Only works on multi deck, portables and mobiles, master volume as set/dialed.
I figured as much, would be handy as I am familiar with the agency they're complaining about--audio levels on a FX0 belonging to adjacent PD driven into distortion. Figured I'd ask--they don't have the $$$ for custom firmware

Are you able to select W/N in the VHF radio below 148 via FPP? Or is it also PC only?
See bold above

Still waiting for my 5200K3....

Confirmed on my new NX5200 that I can select 12.5/25k spacing via FPP under 150MHz

Would not be hard at all for them to allow it from 420-450MHz

Any dealers reading this, please request/suggest a channel knob for the NX portables without the white channel guide mark for use on portables with the channel stop removed. I've suggested it to tech support, and I ask that anyone else who finds this useful please let them know! We can do this!

I'm having a scan issue that i can't seem to resolve. I have a 5700 that use for conventional multi-zone scanning with a priority set. The problem is anytime i receive on a non priority channel the first 1-2 seconds is being cut off, i understand during a priority scan i some traffic will be cut off but this seems excessive. These are the current multi-zone scan settings, Lookback A- 0.30, Lookback B- 0.35, AC control checked and LTR background scan unchecked. I don't have this problem when using my 2180/7180. Anybody have any ideas?

Does anyone know if its possible to program via bluetooth in a multi-deck setup? I plan on getting a 5800 to add in the near future. When i select multi-deck in the product information on my 5700 and try to write via bluetooth the software isn't allowing me to select the bluetooth write button.

I’m already programming my 5700 via Bluetooth and it works fine. My question is why does the Bluetooth button become unselectable when I select the multi-deck feature in the product information.

Bluetooth enabled laptop? Is Bluetooth serial port turned on in the product info?

Hit F1, I'm not where I can walk throught it, Bluetooth rf multi deck should bring up what has to be met to make it work.
