To my mind, there's a big difference between FPP and TFS. For those users who know what they are doing, FPP can be a useful tool, but you don't want just anybody to have FPP on their radio.
The way I understood the old CalFire tactical feature on the TK-790 was that anyone with that feature could, at their discretion, select certain pre-programmed channels in the radio to be assigned to a "tactical" group. The feature did not allow reprogramming of those channels--it just affected group assignments. I think this is what zane018 is looking for in the NX-5000. FPP might be fine for his radio, but I'm guessing that he doesn't want to hand a group of users a bunch of radios with FPP.
