• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

NXDN to Analog patch

Hey all,
The non profit I 'work' for is attempting to transition to an all digital (NXDN) fleet. They've asked me to construct an analog/NXDN patch out of two icom IC-F 6061's so we can patch in the last few analog handhelds we have prior to replacing them all at the end of the fiscal year. I've read this post as well as the service manuals for the 6061's, including the instructions for changing "coffee bean" settings but am still drawing a blank as far as getting audio to pass from the NXDN side (or radio) to the analog side.
Might there be anyone who can tell me what I'm missing or suggest an off the shelf solution for this?

TIA

All pins are available via DB25. I prefer a true controller so I can align the audio vs back to back but can be done this way.

Good morning!
Thanks for the diagram--this is what I was working from yesterday. I was able to get the 6061's to key each other if a digital OR analog handheld was keyed up--I just could not get audio to come through. I had the 6061's connected via the rear DB25, and about 10ft apart, but still no audio coming through.
If you happen to know a source for the true controler you noted, I'd be VERY thankful if you shared it.

Thanks!

Easier way to handle this is using mixed mode channels. It's designed to let you do a slow transition to digital.

Or, load everything with analog channels and when everyone is finally cut over, move to the NXDN channels.

True story(ies); I think I may have solved the problem though.

Thanks all!

Good morning!

Google search: C-FR5000_IC-FR6000_series_sales_handbook_2008.pdf. This is for the ic-fr5000/6000 repeaters; however, the db-25 pinouts are almost identical.

You will find a link to the sales handbook, from radiomanual.eu, where they go in depth as to how to do accomplish what you want to do.

Specifically section 5-2

If you've more questions feel free to ask.

Can you elaborate on the current setup?

All taken care of--that sales manual was VERY helpful in resolving the issue; I'd located it previously.
