I can confirm, no radio traffic heard on 81/83, 84.88 and 90/94

Looks like units who dont have access to the E frequencies are utilizing 84/88 zone for comms. So far just heard housing units

I wanted to believe this day would never come or at least be delayed for a while. Been a on and off listener of nypd for 30+ years. Sad day for sure. Surprised watch dog groups and civil rights advocates haven't put up more of a stink about it.
oh, just wait until they find out.... the press, the civil rights groups, and watch dogs will be screaming!

Myself also. Been listening to SOD since they were on VHF High band ( 155.535 rings a bell ) back in the 1970's. Maybe the Citywide repeaters will stay clear. This sucks.

We'll see I guess. But they must have known this day was coming for some time, like us.
Its been reported coming for years, but denied by many.... well now, reality hits....like I said, if your hobby is LE Monitoring, your hobby has an expiration date.... I have cancelled all future scanner orders.

And the NYPD will watch them like a toddler throwing a hissy fit on the floor in Walmart.
No one said police departments actually care about what hobbyists think about losing their cherished hobby. In fact I think they couldn't care less. And they don't care about the civil rights groups the press or the community activists either... Get used to it.

I doubt they'll backtrack. They could care less about anyone being able to scan. I guess only time will deal. Maybe they'll work out some deal with the media groups or something.

Now it worked for me, I don't know what the issue is. Thanks @GTR8000 for the link, and @KevinC for telling me it does work.
FWIW I've been having issues on and off with the FCC database for the past week or so. Totally hit or miss, if that makes you feel less crazy. According to at least one site, there was a known outage reported last month, seems reasonable to assume there are lingering issues 😒

So I guess I wasn't hearing things when I pointed out that the portables were coming over the analog air digital sounding.
