No but the point is this when a white man does it no one kicks and screams how the police especially the white police singled him out, harrassed him and pushed this until it went bad.

Unfortunately in that community they hate cops more so white cops.

Thanks Jose, I regretted sending that msg after hitting send because I thought it might come of sounding wrong, but I guess my point was made well enough.

Tell me this:

One group committs 70% of violent crimes and are 11% of the population

The other is 64% of the population and share the remaining 30% of violent crimes.

Are statistics racist? Rough figures from the FBI crime report and census. Within a couple of percents.

An epidemic is in the rise. It is getting worse. Last year a metro area close had 70 something murders. Most, greater than 90 percent were of one race. Nothing racist about it. Just plain fact.

It looks like there is an effort to change Michigan's laws, I am assuming to include the death penalty. I found this site about officers Fettig and Bowens who were gunned down in Detroit back in 2004.

I remember hearing on the radio a couple of years ago when Ofc. Mark Sawyers of Sterling Heights PD was killed in the line of duty. I remember a coworker of mine once telling me his brother was a cop and his last name was Sawyers. It turned out to be his brother.

The kid should be tried as an adult. He knew exactly what he was doing, he pre-meditated it and made the decision to attack the officer, get his gun and shoot him with it. Then run like the little piece of SHI* that he is.

There are no explanations, there are no right answers. This AS*HOLE deserves to die. I dont care if he was purple, blue, black, pink, white, yellow or brown. Fact is he took a life. Screw the rights, if you kill someone, you should die. Plain and simple.

Visitation is today (12/30/08) from 2pm-8pm and tomorrow (12/31/08) from 0930-1015

The funeral Mass will begin at 1100. Any agencies bringing vehicles or apparatus are asked to be at the parking lot of the church no later than 1000 on 12/31/08.

He is survived by his wife, 13 month old daughter, parents, brother, sister, grandmother , and in-laws.

I know the Bowens family quite well. I was involved with the petition drive which we got hanked around buy GRANMOLE 3 times then by the time we got the signatures it was too late.

You can't ask for nicer people with a larger heart then the Bowens family.

For those that are interested it sounds like radio communications for the funeral services will be taking place on g event 8 . They have asked everyone else that is on the mpscs and in the area to turn off their home bases so they dont over load the towers.

It sounds like Southfield PD is covering dispatch and patrol services at least for the day shift in Oak Park and being dispatched on the Southfield PD channel.

I go to church and I am pretty sure that anyone there would be very grateful to a cop that would bring you home rather than arrest you.
